Telluride, Colorado

Tucked away in the Southwest corner of the state, deep in the San Juan Mountains, is this mecca of winter and summertime sports.  It is also home to the renowned Telluride Bluegrass Festival and one of the state’s best mountain golf courses.

Golf was not the only reason for my visit to this high-ranking course that is frequented by the PGA each year; The band Phish was playing a 3 day concert down the road.  But, as long as I was within a wedge of the course, I had to hop on while I was there.

Bandon Dunes, Oregon

Head to the Oregon Coast to stake out the highly popular, but difficult to reach Bandon Dunes Resort, near Coos Bay.  Played three different courses during the weekend on their version of European links golf and not disappointment with this American version of a classic.
